Piggeries, The
Barnacre Cottages is a small, private hamlet of five 5* Gold cottages, winners of many local and National awards. Set in beautiful countryside, the Forest of Bowland, an area designated Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Whilst in beautiful countryside surroundings, the cottages are in an ideal and convenient location for visiting the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Manchester, Liverpool, just an hours drive away (including the famous football grounds) busy Blackpool, Chester, York, Harrogate and other historical centres of interest.
Great walks from our door through public footpaths and countrylanes. The small, attractive market town of Garstang with its weekly market on the High Street every Thursday is a pleasant 35 minute walk.
Historic Lancaster is a small attractive city with the castle, Williamson Park, Dukes Theatre is a 20 minute drive .
Just a 35 minute drive are the coastal resorts of Morecambe and Blackpool with all its attractions, roller coasters, Blackpool Tower, circus, zoo and the famous illuminations in autumn. Nearby Lytham and the sand dunes at St.Annes
Lots of local attractions, places to visit, great eating places.
The Piggeries, was created from the original farm piggeries. It is a detached stone cottage which has undergone further major changes during spring/summer 2013. These new alterations take advantage of the spectacular views across the countryside to the coast.
Now with a large kitchen with a fabulous hand-painted ' Mark Wilkinson ' kitchen. Fully equipped with green Aga stove, gas hob,oven,fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave,Washing machine and seperate tumble dryer. Granite work surfaces. Large island with breakfast bar, dining table.
. French doors lead from the kitchen to a raised patio area with seating and fantastic views. Steps lead down to another seating area and the enclosed landscaped attractive gardens.
A separate, very attractive orangery style dining hall with table to seat 9.
Huge, living room with grand stone fireplace and woodburning stove, comfy leather Natuzzi sofas. Opening to beautiful, conservatory/garden room, comfyTetrad sofas, french doors to enclosed landscaped gardens.
There are 4 bedrooms with en suite facilities. Two of these rooms have floor length windows with opening doors and juliet balconies, spectacular views across the countryside. One is a family room with a double and single bed, the other a double room. Two further bedrooms, a double and a twin room which can also be made into a superking size bed if required.
A fantastic luxury cottage in beautiful countryside. Contemporary furnishings to ensure a stylish and comfortable stay. Suitable for gatherings of families and friends.
We have an onsite all weather doubles tennis court, childrens play ground with swings, slides, climbing frame and fort. Ball games area.
Pet free ranging chickens, egg collecting, ponies, pet lambs at Easter time.
On site resident owners on hand to help.
