Nearby, the Loch Fleet nature reserve (a designated SSSI) attracts a wide variety of wading birds, and guided tours of this wonderfully tranquil tidal basin can be arranged. The Sutherland hills are a short drive away and there are forest walks nearby. Just 10 miles away lies Dunrobin Castle, spiritual home of the clan Suthe
