Acklington is a village located just a few miles from the coast and its near neighbour Warkworth. The River Coquet meanders past the village, with a view from Guyzance Bridge. There is a limited bus and train service to Alnwick, Newcastle and Alnmouth, and the whole of the coast is within easy driving distance. Warkworth, 4 miles away, is a pretty village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th Century castle. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries and antique shops, a village shop-cum-post office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9-hole 'pay and play' golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian's Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

A lovely cottage in a great location, close to Alnwick, the coast at Amble and Druridge Bay yet only 40 mins from Newcastle too. Didn't need to travel far.

Our little four year old girl enjoyed the park facilities and making friends with children staying on the campsite
Mrs Fawcett, Seascale, Cumbria
July 2013

,Friendly and helpful, the owners were lovely. Even gave help and advice when my sister-in-laws car needed repaired. Nice and quiet even although there is a restaurant and station next door and near by.
Mrs Turner, Troon, South Ayrshire
September 2012

,The cottage is in an excellent location in a lovely area. All the staff at the next door pub were very friendly and welcomed our dog without reservation. The cottage is modern, clean, comfortable and relaxing. It set the tone for our holiday and I would recommend Dove Cottage to everyone.
Mrs Egler, Leeds, West Yorkshire
July 2012

,The location is excellent for both coast and countryside. We received a warm welcome from the hosts with lots of advice regarding local points of interest. It was lovely to have an on-site pub with a restaurant.
Mrs Thomson, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
June 2012
