Superb walking, mountain biking and climbing is available locally on Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam, and the lovely woodland trails at Grizedale Forest. For water sports enthusiasts the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, whilst the less active can enjoy a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht ‘Gondola'.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

The rooms are spacious and the home comfortable. The short walks to everything necessary gave us the village feel. The scenery and the many close natural features made it a great choice for the family members that were very much into the outdoors. We took turns eating and the kitchen was perfect for preparing meals for large groups.
