Bigbury-on-Sea lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has stunning views across the award winning beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Challaborough. The Bay is perched high on the cliffs above Challaborough Beach at Bigbury-on-Sea and benefits from stunning sea views which can also be enjoyed from the large balcony - perfect for enjoying a glass of wine whilst watching the sun go down. There are several eateries including the award winning Venus Cafe located next to the beach, which offers local organic produce. The Pilchard Inn, located on Burgh Island, offers good basic food and a selection of fine ales. Burgh Island is linked to Bigbury-on-Sea by a short sandy causeway which, when covered at high tide, can only be crossed using the unique sea tractor. At low tide, the historic Burgh Island is just a short walk away, where famous guests of the beautiful Art Deco hotel have included Agatha Christie, The Beatles, Noel Coward and Edward and Mrs Simpson.
