The picturesque and unspoilt harbour of Charlestown is also worth a visit. Built in the early 19th century for the export of copper and china clay it is home to a collection of old ships which have been used in film projects and its Shipwreck and Heritage Centre has the largest UK collection of artefacts and treasure recovered from shipwrecks.You will be ideally placed to visit some of the many National Trust properties including Lanhydrock House with its extensive grounds. The Eden Project and Bodmin Moor are also easily reached as are the North Cornish coastal towns of Tintagel Port Isaac Boscastle and Padstow. The area is perfect for all year-round activities such as walking cycling and riding and has some of the most scenic golf courses in the country.
