This beautiful thatched cottage is grade II listed and has recently been renovated. The cottage is set amongst fields on a private lane that leads to the the River Kennet. It is a an attractive rural retreat. Here you can relax in the cosy and comfortable sitting room with its electric/log fire and a good selection of books, games and maps or sit on the patio and enjoy the garden. The pub is a short walk away in Chilton Foliat.
Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty walkers will enjoy Savernake Forest, the Kennet and Avon canal and the Ridgeway. Antique hunters can explore Hungerford (2 miles) and further afield Marlborough (9 miles), Avebury, Oxford, Bath and Salisbury beckon.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 double and a twin, one bathroom and separate WC, a sitting room and a well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine fridge/freezer and a microwave. There is no TV at the property but we have a DVD and a CD player. The twin bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor.
The cottage has easy access to the M4 and there are direct trains to London from Hungerford. There is ample parking on the lane.
