Converted in 2005. Very warm and cosy cottage which can be booked with adjoining cottage (The Old Stables-( please ring 01661-822188 for details) to sleep up to 10 + 2 and 2 cots for babies (including 1 double sofa bed & 2 single folding beds in one lounge).The Old Tack Room has a double bedroom & a twin room upstairs & a double sofa bed in the 2nd lounge downstairs. The Old Stables has a double bedroom, a twin room & up to 2 single folding beds pu up t in the lounge. Extremely quiet, but within half a mile of shops, restaurants & pubs. Everything included in rent except for towels which are extra (£6.00 per person).
Private, off road covered parking at door. Games room for the children (Snooker / pool, table tennis & darts). Hard tennis court in private garden. Have had many comments saying how comfortable and well equipped they are and also how well placed for visiting the area. Belsay Hall, Castle and gardens (English Heritage) approx 5 miles. Wallington Hall approx 14 miles and Cragside approx. 23 miles (both National Trust). Beautiful, clean uncrowded sandy beaches within half an hours drive. Beamish Museum, County Durham approx three quarters of an hour drive. Scottish border 40 miles. Also within 10 miles of both Newcastle upon Tyne and the Metro Centre, Gateshead for shopping.Guests are asked not to arrive before 4.00pm, nor leave later than 10.00am on the day of departure. Please note, there is a surcharge for 5 or more people in one cottage.
