Cardean Mill
Cardean Mill is set in the most idyllic of locations along the banks of the Dean Water, between two bridges, in the former Estate of Cardean. The pretty village of Meigle (thought to be the oldest village in Scotland) is within walking distance.
The tranquillity of the location offers regular sightings of a variety of wildlife such as Otters, Kingfishers, Deer, Swans, Heron, Red Squirrels and more recently a family of Beavers. The garden extends to almost 2 acres, with access to neighbouring woodland and trout fishing is permitted on the river. Grayling fishing is also available outwith the trout season and an ideal launch place for canoes and kayaks.
The property itself is freshly decorated throughout for comfortable, cosy family living and is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day out.
It has 4 bedrooms ( two with ensuite), 1 twin on the ground floor and 2 dbls (one with single futon bed) and 1 twin on the upper floor, all with lovely riverside views. Single fold out bed afvailable. Travel cot available. The entrance hall features an internal Mill wheel. It has a large open plan Living/Dining with well equipped Kitchen. Outdoor gazebo and barbecue offers the perfect, relaxing, riverside, alfresco dining. There is also a childrens play area with swings/climbing frame and slide to the side of the property.
This holiday home is ideally situated for easy reach of all that Perthshire has to offer. Outdoor activity centre only 5miles offering Quads, Clays, Archery and Tank driving. Golfers are spoilt for choice with numerous golf courses within 4miles, many more within 10miles and St Andrews and Gleneagles only a 45min drive away. Glenshee Ski Centre offering a variety of winter sports is just a 35min drive.
Many more of Perthshires new and historic attractions can be found in the surrounding Cities, Towns and Villages. Glamis Castle, the Angus Glens, Scone Palace (home of the Stone of Destiny) and House of Bruar are all well worth a visit.
This makes a fantastic base for Canoeists, Cyclists, Fishers, Golfers, Skiers and Walkers.
