Loose Box, The
The Loose Box is one of two separate cottages in the centre of Laxfield village conservation area, close to the shop and two pub/restaurants. Both cottages are Grade II listed retaining their original character complemented with simple, comfortable, modern amenities.
The Loose Box has a studio style layout and sleeps 2 in one double bed, but two additional people, usually children, could be accommodated as a double sofa bed is also available. All accommodation is ground floor with a walk in wet room type shower, fully fitted kitchen, TV/DVD/video and radio.
Bed linen and towels are included. Dogs accepted at no extra cost. Oil fired central heating (small supplement applied in exceptional weather). Electricity for lighting and appliances is metered at cost. Off-road parking and private paved garden area. Cot and high chair available.
Breakfast can be provided for self-catering guests by prior arrangement and is served in the main house.
The adjoining cottage, The Old Stables sleeps 4 in one double room and one twin bedded room with a shared bath and shower room.
Situated either side of a small courtyard, both cottages can be hired together for larger groups or families, subject to availability.
With its 15th/16th century village centre, Laxfield is an attractive and lively village In Mid-Suffolk, one of the most unspoilt parts of the country and is ideal for exploring Heritage Suffolk and coastal attractions. Approx. 30 minutes drive to Aldeburgh or Southwold; Framlingham, Halesworth and Woodbridge 15 minutes.
Apart from touring other local activities include walking, cycling, fishing, bird-watching, tennis, riding, shooting, swimming and golf. There are concerts and theatrical performances at nearby Snape Maltings and The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth and an increasing number of pubs and restaurants serving excellent food. Or, you could just enjoy the peace and quiet of The Loose Box.
