Grove Cottage | Enjoying a secluded rural setting on the fringes of the Snowdonia National Park, this delightful cluster of cottages, parts of which date back to the 17th century, are bursting with character and charm. They are nestled in their own natural grounds of five acres in an elevated location, a haven for wildlife with many trees and flowering shrubs, especially perfect for children, where visitors are welcome to wander and relax, taking in the stunning views over the surrounding beautiful countryside. If visitors can bear to tear themselves away from Ty Poeth's tranquil seclusion, a wealth of delights await exploration. A short drive leads to the fascinating Centre for Alternative Technology, a pioneering eco-centre the whole family can enjoy, and at Corris, amazing undergound boat journeys are all part of the experience of the mysterious King Arthur's Labyrinth. Mountain biking is among the superb variety of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed locally, along with breathtakingly beautiful walks inthe Cambrian Mountains and the Cader Idris, whilst the Dyfi Valley, the only UNESCO biosphere in Wales, is the unique lovely setting for several RSPB and nature reserves. Aberdyfi (20 miles) boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain with four miles of golden sand-dune backed shoreline running north to Tywyn. The beaches are favourites with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen while the estuary attracts a wide range of water sports enthusiasts who will find sailing, sailboarding, rowing, canoeing and boat trips are all popular here. Golf lovers are also well catered for – beside the dunes lies a championship links golf course. Also on the coast, the university town of Aberystwyth (24 miles) is well worth a visit, and there are many historic market towns to discover and explore – both Dolgellau and Machynlleth (9 miles) offer an excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Cycle hire, golf, tennis, a sports centre and indoor swimming pool are all found at Machynlleth. There is a shop and 'local' pub serving food at Cemmaes (½ mile). | | |  |  |
