	Nestling in 75 acres of gardens and parkland at Longhirst Hall, these four delightful properties offer the perfect setting for family holidays. Children receive a backpack of goodies and are encouraged to become nature detectives when they join the Secret Squirrel club and there is also an outdoor adventure area and indoor games room. Staff at the Information Centre are happy to organise trips, visits and activities – from birthday parties to hot air ballooning and clay pigeon shooting. Micklewood visitors can also enjoy (at extra cost) the splendid facilities at Longhirst Hall including 18 hole golf courses, all weather tennis courts, a fitness room, bars and a restaurant specialising in local produce. The market town of Morpeth is just 2½ miles, Alnwick Castle and Gardens are a ½ hour drive, and the pretty villages of Warkworth and Alnmouth, and harbour town of Amble, all with splendid beaches, are just a short drive. Inland, unspoilt countryside, woods and moorland are dotted with quaint villages like Rothbury, home to Cragside house and gardens (18 miles). A visit to vibrant Newcastle city (20 miles) is a must.
