Innkeepers Cottage | A beautiful 17th Century grade 2 listed character cottage centrally located for both the historic city of Durham and the pretty market town of Barnard Castle and Teesdale.
Ideal for romantic breaks situated in the heart of the Northern Dales, perfect for walking and birdwatching or just relaxing and doing nothing.
Innkeepers Cottage, as the name suggests, was once the residence of the local innkeeper in the 17th Century. Today it has been sympathetically refurbished to an exceptionally high standard and has retained many period features, including exposed timber beams, wooden floors and original fireplaces.
Ideally situated on the banks of the river Wear, the village is surrounded by beautiful open countryside with glorious scenic walks. There are two village pubs, both serving food with evening entertainment, and a passenger steam railway stops at Frosterley station on its run between Wolsingham and Stanhope.
