It offers sandy beaches and cliff walks, wooded river creeks and unspoilt countryside together with pretty hamlets and villages. The largest centre is St. Mawes with its Tudor castle and access via foot ferry to Falmouth across the harbour and St. Anthony Head across the river. Popular with swimmers, sailors and walkers, its sheltered harbour and safe beaches are ever popular but uncommercialised.
