There are numerous walks along the coasts and estuaries, at Woodbury and Aylesbeare commons or just along the country lanes. Within 1.5 miles is Westpoint, the South West showground. Also close are numerous quality golf courses, Bicton Gardens, swimming pools and theatres. Other coastal resorts and Dartmoor are within half an hours drive.
