A welcome re-release of Jacques Deray's erotically charged 1969 thriller starring Alain Delon, Romy Schneider and Jane Birkin. Jean-Paul (Delon) and Marianne (Schneider) are holidaying on St Tropez when her old flame, record producer Harry (Maurice Ronet), turns up unexpectedly with his 18-year-old daughter Penelope (Birkin) in tow. Jean-Paul is clearly attracted to Penelope, not that Marianne seems to be unduly concerned since she happily fans the smouldering embers of her romance with Harry. Tensions ignite and late one night, Jean-Paul and an equally inebriated Harry come to blows with tragic consequences. The next morning, Marianne and Penelope have to come to terms with the devastating repercussions of the violence.
