Peter Webber, director of Girl With A Pearl Earring, channels the spirit of Oscar nominated 1999 documentary Buena Vista Social Club for a valentine to the pioneering Jamaican reggae musicians, who have been promoting their music since the 1970s. The film travels to a recording studio in the lush green mountains high above Kingston where a superstar group including Ken Boothe, Kiddus I, Winston McAnuff and Cedric Myton have gathered to record an unplugged album of hits that reflect the deep roots of reggae and the vibrant culture of their homeland. Live performances including Boothe's Everything I Own are intercut with anecdotes, including contributions from Derajah, Jah9, Judy Mowatt, Steve Newland and The Viceroys.
