Hannah
Charlotte Rampling delivers a tour-de-force performance in the title role of Italian director Andrea Pallaoro's slow-burning character study. Hannah (Rampling) lives with her husband (Andre Wilms) and beloved King Charles spaniel in suburban Brussels. She breaking up the week by attending acting classes where she can express her feelings through movement and words. Out of the blue, police arrive to arrest Hannah's husband and she goes into denial, pretending the shocking event never happened. Slowly, the various threads of her cosy middle-class existence unravel and Hannah finds herself isolated from her family. Loneliness threatens to suffocate her and finally, her steely facade cracks.
