Nureyev
Made with the full support of The Nureyev Foundation and narrated by Dame Sian Phillips, Nureyev is a revealing documentary directed by BAFTA nominated filmmakers Jacqui and David Morris, which explores the life of arguably the most famous male ballet dancer of all time. Set to an original score by award-winning composer Alex Baranowski, the film chronicles the rise of Rudolf Nureyev from humble beginnings in Russia to global superstar via his eventual defection to the West across a highly charged political divide. The documentary incorporates previously unseen footage and dance segments directed by Russell Maliphant as well as contributions from some of Nureyev's dance contemporaries including Alla Osipenko, Dame Antoinette Sibley and Ghislaine Thesmar.
