Do the Right Thing
To mark its 30th anniversary, a sparkling 4K restoration of Spike Lee's uncompromising, Oscar-nominated comedy drama opens in selected cinemas. Italian-American pizzeria owner Sal (Danny Aiello) has operated in his neighbourhood of Brooklyn for 25 years, to the chagrin of his son Pino (John Turturro), who is unabashed about his dislike of African-American locals. Mookie (Spike Lee) is one of the pizzeria's delivery drivers. He needs the work to help raise his son Hector with girlfriend Tina (Rosie Perez). One of Mookie's good friends demands that Sal put up a few African-American celebrities on the pizzeria's wall of fame. When Sal refuses, arguing that he has the right to run his business as he sees fit, tensions ignite, leading to a violent confrontation between enraged locals and the police.
