For quarter of a century, documentary filmmaker Lauren Greenfield (The Queen Of Versailles) has travelled around the world, searching for stories to commit to celluloid. Unwittingly, with each film, she was recording moments in time that point to a bloated consumer culture that values wealth and status above kindness, compassion and humility. In her new film, Greenfield explores how the boom-bust cycles of the global economy impact on our insatiable hunger for designer labels and material possessions, and the greed that is now deeply rooted in the American dream.
