Maya the Bee: The Honey Games

A plucky bee learns that you can make a bigger buzz in the company of friends in a heart-warming computer-animated adventure for younger audiences, directed by Noel Cleary and Alexs Stadermann. Busy Bee 396 - or Maya (voiced by Coco Jack Gillies) as she is christened - is horrified when the Empress of Buzztropolis (Marney McQueen) decrees that Maya's hive must contribute half of its honey store to feeding the athletes of the annual Honey Games. Maya tries to reason with the Empress but accidentally makes the situation worse. In order to prove herself, Maya vows to emerge victorious at the Honey Games flanked by a team of misfits including her best friend Willi (Benson Jack Anthony). If she fails, the hive must hand over its entire supply of honey to Buzztropolis. The stakes are impossibly high as one tiny, determined bee faces insurmountable odds to protect the honey harvest and instil a sense of pride in her hive.
