Medical student Ailin (Chelsea Islan) is working on an Indonesian island when she stumbles upon the lifeless body of a man, washed up on shore. Miraculously the man is still breathing and she nurses him back to life and christens him Ishmael (Iko Uwais). He has no memory of the past because a bullet is lodged in his brain. Unbeknownst to Pretty and the patient, Ishmael is actually a trained killer called Abdi, who was kidnapped as a child by kingpin Mr Lee (Sunny Pang) and moulded into the perfect killing machine. When Mr Lee learns that Abdi has managed to avoid the watery grave that was intended for him, the hoodlum kidnaps Ailin and uses her as bait to lure Abdi out of hiding and back into his clutches.
