Saturday Night Fever
"Listen to the ground, there is movement all around. There is something goin' down and I can feel it...". For one day only, the 1977 low-budget film, inspired by a magazine article by Nick Cohn, struts back onto the big screen. John Travolta perfects his swagger as poor Italian-American boy Tony Manero, who works in a paint shop by day but comes alive at night (especially on Saturdays), clad in his finest threads. Entering a high profile dance competition, Tony forsakes his girlfriend Annette (Donna Pescow) in favour of the more talented Stephanie (Karen Lynn Gorney). The soundtrack shimmies to Bee Gees hits including "Stayin' Alive", "More Than A Woman" and "You Should Be Dancin'".
