Dr Jan Zabinski and his wife Antonina assume control of the Warsaw Zoo as bombs rain down on the city. Jews are subsequently rounded up in Warsaw and sent to the Ghetto. The Zabinskis risk their lives to save Jews from the Ghetto in defiance of the German invaders.
