New York public relations agent Eli Wurman attempts to avoid a scandal involving his one client, womanising movie actor Cary Launer, by concealing his drug addict model girlfriend Jilli from the paparazzi. Eli takes her to a low rent hotel and passes the time by popping pills in the bathroom; when he regains consciousness, Jilli is dead on the bed from a suspected overdose.
