Headingley Carnegie Stadium
Headingley Stadium is the home of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, rugby league team Leeds Rhinos and rugby union team Leeds Carnegie (formerly known as Leeds Tykes).
One of the most famous stadiums in world sport, Headingley, was opened in 1890 and has staged more than 40 international Rugby League matches, as well as countless finals.
This ground has a covered seating area along one side, with the covered terracing on the other. Both ends of the ground are sill uncovered. The view of the pitch is good from both sides, and the atmosphere on the standing terrace is good (...like the old football stadium days!)
At the start of 2006 plans were announced for a historic redevelopment of the newly named Headingley Carnegie Stadium encompassing both the rugby and cricket stadia that will usher in a new and exciting future for one of the most famous stadiums in world sport.
