Chiswick House
Lord Burlington's masterpiece built circa 1728 is one of England's first and finest Palladian villas. The ornately decorated interior includes the dazzling Blue Velvet Room. Beautifully laid out classical gardens with statues, urns and obelisks surround the House, as well as the water cascade. It has been said that a ghost of one of the past cooks prepares a full English Breakfast in the last afternoon. Such visitations are few and far between, and, when you consider that smell eminates from kitchens which have not existed for over 100 years it is rather spooky!
