St Martin-in-the-Fields | The current building is the fourth to stand on the site, completed in 1726 to a design by James Gibbs. The magnificent facade was a new style, with Corinthian columns supporting a pediment, with a graceful steeple, topped with a gilt crown. Visit the Gallery with frequently changing exhibits, or create a medieval knight in the Brass Rubbing Centre. The Cafe-In-The-Crypt serves hot drinks and pastries or a full menu in the excellent restaurant. St Martin-In-The-Fields hosts concerts held in the evenings and lunchtimes (bookings on 020 7839 8362). |
