Bridewell Theatre | The Bridewell Theatre lies off Fleet Street in a former Victorian bath house in Bride Lane. The pool had been dry for 22 years when, in 1994, the cobweb filled vault was dusted off and renovated to become one of London's most popular theatres. Since then, the audiences have been charmed by the venue and the quality of work presented there. Wrought iron balconies, pillars, staircases and the sunken pool area have become adaptable and much loved playing spaces for actors, directors, designers and musicians.
As one of the few remaining off-West End venues, the Bridewell Theatre seeks to encourage amateur and professional performances alike supporting both classical and contemporary drama. The Theatre has also recently expanded its programme to include ‘Lunchbox’ productions which run for 45 minutes, encouraging local workers to visit the theatre in their lunch hour.
